The City of Mount Hope, Kansas was incorporated in 1887. A major motion picture was filmed in downtown Mount Hope. Ace Eli and Rodgers of The Sky written by Steven Spielberg starring Cliff Robertson, Pamela Franklin, Eric Shea and Bernadette Peters.
